O 16 de novembro de 2023, o Dr. Rafael Rodríguez Riego (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela /CiQUS) ofrecerá o seminario "Taming helices: from structure to functions” dentro do ciclo CINBIO Seminar Programme.

Rafael Rodríguez received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. at the University of Santiago de Compostela/CiQUS (Spain) working on the structural elucidation and applications of stimuli responsive helical polymers — awarded as best thesis in science in 2018— under the supervision of Prof. Félix Freire and Prof. Emilio Quiñoá. He performed two postdoctoral stays at Kanazawa University (Japan, as Assistant Professor) and the Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes (University of Rennes 1, France, as Xunta de Galicia Postdoc ) in the Research groups of Prof. Katsuhiro Maeda and Dr. Jeanne Crassous to work in chiral materials with CPL activity. In 2021, he was awarded with a Juan de la Cierva Incorporación fellowship to move back to University of Santiago de Compostela/CiQUS (Spain) to develop chiral materials with switchable CPL activity. Recently, he was awarded with a Ramón y Cajal contract.
