ABSTRACT:
This thesis explores the biomedical potential of plasmonic nanoparticles through integrated sensing and therapeutic strategies. It begins by establishing foundational concepts about plasmonic nanostructures and their combinations with bacteria and MPNs, SERS and lateral flow techniques. A SERS-based LFIA enables sensitive detection of SARS-CoV-2 in saliva samples. Multiplexed immunoprofiling is achieved by combining SERS and fluorescence using MPN-coated nanoprobes. Finally, bacterial–nanoparticle biohybrids are developed for targeted cancer imaging and photothermal therapy.
