Teses CINBIO - Lara Costas Ríos 26 outubro 2026 Salón de grados novo, Edificio de Ciencias Experimentales. Campus Vigo

O luns 26 de outubro ás 11.00 horas, Lara Costas Ríos, do grupo FunNanoBio do CINBIO, defenderá a súa tese de doutoramento baixo o título “Bacterial Biosensors Base on Surface Enhanced Raman Scatering".

Será no Salón de grados novo do Edificio de Ciencias Experimentales, no campus de Vigo.

ABSTRACT:

This thesis focuses on the development of whole-cell (WCB) and cell-free biosensors (CFB) using Raman-active reporters (RaRs) produced through engineered biosynthetic pathways for SERS detection, with particular emphasis on multiplex sensing. Different plasmid-based bacterial biosensors were developed, in which each biosensor produces a unique Raman output in response to a specific target analyte, enabling the simultaneous detection and discrimination of multiple signals. In addition, strain-based biosensors with chromosomally integrated reporter-producing pathways were developed as a more stable and robust alternative to plasmid-based systems. Overall, this work combines synthetic biology, SERS and computational analysis to develop sensitive, robust and multiplexable biosensing platforms.
